AFTERTHOUGHTS
Best countries: Umm.. Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia top the chart (the fact that I travelled around those countries without my parents had a lot to do with it). China is HUGE and a must-see destination when you travel to Asia. You could spend a year there and still not see the whole country.
Best shopping: China for fake designer stuff; Singapore and Hongkong come close. Went on shopping spree in Bangkok as well.
Most boring: Apart from Indonesia where I didn't get to do much but sit around at my parents' home sleeping in, reading or watching pirate DVD's, Korea. Probably because we went on one of those package holidays with snotty rich people where you sit on the bus the whole time with hardly any free time.
Regrets: That I didn't get to Laos. And too little time in China. Will have to go back one day.
Recommendations: Stay at one of those rafthouses at Khao Sok National Park, Thailand. Absolutely gorgeous and tranquil place to laze around doing nothing. Check out Hoi An if you're heading to Vietnam - you can get anything made there (clothes, shoes, etc). Nice little old town; one of my favourite spots in Vietnam. Oh, and check out Blue Pumpkin restaurant in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
